The emotional, social, and physical development of young children correlates positively with their overall development and the kind of adult they eventually become. This is why investing in very young children is important.
Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) is essential toward this, as it helps to maximize the future well being of children. Unfortunately, many people in poorer and marginalized communities have not appreciated the import of ECDE.
Besides efforts to improve access to other aspects of basic education and appropriate skilling, African PRIDE Centre undertakes projects aimed at remedying the negative impacts of inadequate understanding of the importance of ECCDE. We particularly support primary and secondary school children from poor and disadvantaged households and communities to access relevant education and skills.
