African PRIDE Centre (APC) was founded in Kenya in 2006 at the height of the post-election violence (PEV) that rocked the country, disrupted access to education for many children from poor and marginalized households, and rendered many children, young people, and women homeless and without hope.
With the support of our well-wishers, many such children, young people, and women have been assisted to enroll or continue with their education, gain skills for economic growth, and join climate action efforts at grassroots level.
We envision African communities better able to innovate and implement robust solutions to ignorance, poverty, hunger, and disease, as well as being critically conscious about the importance of environmental health.
Our Mission is to enhance the quality of life for the poor and persons at the margins of society through interventions that promote health and well-being, education and skilling, and self-sufficiency.
Our values are:
- Serving with INTEGRITY
- Promoting SHARED PROSPERITY
- Being PRUDENT
- Building Lasting RELATIONSHIPS
- Creating OPPORTUNITIES
- Excelling as a PASSIONATE TEAM
Our goals are:
- Investing in children through Basic Education and Appropriate Skilling
- Empowering Women who are undisputed pillars in African communities
- Investing in efforts to promote alternative occupations
- Nurturing critical environmental consciousness through promotion of targeted community renewable energy projects
